I’ve played the piano since I was 5 years old both personally and professionally. I also played the clarinet, guitar and majored in voice and piano at the University of Texas at Austin. I taught music in public school for a very short time but found that teaching one-on-one worked best for me.
I’ve been teaching piano lessons privately since the 1980’s and set up 3 successful studios in Dallas, Oklahoma and most recently, Austin, where I had as many as 60 students per week. I recently moved to Georgetown Texas and have established my studio here. I always offer your first piano lesson free! Contact me to set up your complimentary first lesson.
I believe music is a necessity to being creative and aware of the power of understanding music. It works with the brain in so many positive ways and encourages an appreciation of the creative process, self-assurance and pure enjoyment. I approach each student with an awareness of the individual and the unique learning process.
I teach all ages and skill levels private lessons in an individual setting in my home studio, where I have both a Yamaha grand and a Roland Digital piano. I use them both to vary the learning experience. Theory is included, along with classical, popular and compositional repertoire options.
I host recitals at Halloween, Spring and an optional holiday performance at a senior retirement center nearby. I am a member of ADMTA and the National Guild of Piano Teachers. Each organization offers additional performance options.
I offer incentives in the form of trophies and awards at the spring recital.
